Strong Franc nibbles at turnover

The HUG Bakery Products Group with headquarters in Malters/Lucerne achieved a turnover of CHF 125 million in the financial year 2011. In comparison to the previous year the turnover fell by around five percent. The main reason for this drop in turnover was the strong Swiss franc which caused export revenues to shrink by 15 %. The quantity of bakery products produced declined by only 2.7 %. The Wernli and DAR-VIDA brands were able to successfully maintain the previous year's turnover. The further development of the catering business is also pleasing. HUG continues to focus on Switzerland as their location and invested around one million Franks in 2011 in a new production line in Trimbach.
