Stiftung Folsäure Offensive Schweiz
According to the «4th Swiss Report on Nutrition, 1998», many groups of our population lack adequate amounts of folic acid in their diet, which could lead to health and socio-economic problems. The «Folic Acid Action Foundation of Switzerland» has set its target at overcoming this shortage in folic acid intake, in cooperation with leading producers of foodstuffs, the retail industry, and professional societies. 

Since the launching of this Folic Acid Action Foundation in 1999, HUG has been an active part of it all. HUG offers two special products - zwieback and DAR-VIDA - both containing natural folic acid.

The Swiss Society for Nutrition
The Swiss Society for Nutrition joined BrainStore to organize the «Balance Boy» award for fast foods. This program is aimed at motivating the youth to make an effort to eat a balanced diet.

HUG is also fully aware of this increasingly important aspect - balanced nutrition. At a food tasting event held on March 22, 2006, HUG walked away with «Balance Boy» awards for two of its fast food products.

pro juventute
As a private and independent organization, pro juventute operates efficiently, focusing on its goals. pro juventute helps children in families and in the society - throughout Switzerland. The pro juventute Hotel, Chesa Spuondas, was set up specially to assist financially disadvantaged and single parent families. In particular those who would benefit from the opportunity to get away and spend some time at a vacation resort, in order to regain some energy to tackle their daily chores back at home. Such support is made possible by the HUG Holiday Fund. As soon as a petition is received, the fund makes a direct contribution to the vacation budget of Chesa Spuondas.
